Life Care Suicide Prevention Program

Incolink’s Life Care program is aimed at suicide prevention in the building and construction industry. Life Care delivers life care skills to workers and apprentices across Victoria, assisting them to prepare for, and cope with, the pressures of work and daily life.

Life Care counsellor Troy Matisons makes on-site visits and helps workers and apprentices create pathways into support services. Incolink is delivering the life care program in association with Cbus Superannuation.

Terminal Illness Support

Incolink’s Terminal Illness Support program provides support and assistance for members and their families who have been diagnosed with a terminal or life-threatening illness. Dana van de Wiel’s experience as a support worker, counsellor and teacher allows her to help members and their families understand the benefits and insurances provided by Incolink and other funds such as Cbus and Co-Invest, as well as services in the wider community.

Dana offers counselling, support and practical assistance to members experiencing loss and grief and to act as an advocate for members and their families at times of crisis or stress. Dana is available at her office at Incolink, makes site visits and also home visits. Dana can be contacted through Incolink on 9668 3066.

Incolink Prostate Cancer Campaign

Incolink provides members with up to $50 each for a simple test to detect prostate cancer – a disease that affects one in 11 men in Australia. With 10,000 new cases diagnosed each year, prostate cancer is the most frequent cancer, and the second highest cause of cancer-related deaths, in Australian men. The good news is it is treatable if detected early, with almost 100 per cent of men diagnosed early disease-free after five years, according to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

To encourage members to take the simple PSA blood test, Incolink provides up to $50 each to cover the difference between the total bill and the Medicare rebate. In addition to the $200,000 for this screening program, Incolink is providing $50,000 to Brisbane’s Mater Medical Research Institute, which is a world leader in prostate research.
