The building and construction industry is a major part of the Victorian economy, particularly through the many and varied jobs it offers. The industry employs more than 160,000 Victorians.
In addition to collecting and administering the redundancy funds that provide payment to workers when they are between jobs, Incolink also provides a range of other benefits and services.
The nature of the industry means that many workers change employers over the years, and while redundancy and superannuation payments have long been able to be carried from one employer to another, other benefits, such as sick leave, have not. Now, the Portable Sick Leave Scheme, administered by Incolink, allows employees to take their sick leave with them when they change jobs.
Another important benefit available to members is Income Protection and Trauma Insurance, which, too, is administered by Incolink.
In addition to these critical day-to-day benefits, Incolink members, and in many instances their families, can enjoy a range of benefits including Medical Transport Cover, Dental Accident Benefits, Personal Accident Insurance, and General Insurance for homes, contents, motor vehicles. The Incolink Health Plan, through major health insurer HBA, provides members with savings on no-fuss medical insurance.
Incolink has special arrangements with a number of other service providers, such as telecommunications provider Oscar, to deliver savings on home and mobile telephone and internet services for members.
To obtain all the benefits offered, an employee must work for an employer who is part of an agreement that includes them paying money into the redundancy fund on the employee’s behalf.
